Earth Wind & Water Channel Island Championships 2007

South African Rob Holst has won the 2007 Channel Island Bodyboard Championships, which were held by the Jersey Bodyboarders in good 4ft waves at Les Brayes during an icy mid December morning.

The final was hotly fought out between resident South African bodyboarders Rob Holst and Mark McClurg, Jersey junior Phil Le Neveu and local big wave charger James Manners. The standard was high throughout with Holst's series of smooth forward and reverse 360's, tube rides and barrel rolls taking him to the title, ahead of Le Neveu in 2nd, who put in an excellent challenge landing one big high scoring air roll spin to give him the runner-up spot.
